Deal marks the second Market Research firm Kaulkin Ginsberg has advised in the past 3 months.
April 4, 2005: BETHESDA, MD – Kaulkin Ginsberg Company announces the acquisition of Signia Partners, Inc. by FIND/SVP, Inc. (OTCBB: FSVP), a research and consulting firm. Kaulkin Ginsberg, a Bethesda-based M&A advisory firm, served as advisor to Signia Partners and initiated this transaction.
Headquartered outside of Washington, D.C., Signia Partners, Inc. is a leading provider of in-depth business research and fact-based decision support, focusing on the financial services, health care and consumer sectors. In 2004, Signia Partners generated revenues of $4.4 million.
The acquisition is part of FIND/SVP’s ‘build and buy’ strategy to become a leading single-source provider of business intelligence and knowledge services. Upon closing, Douglas House, CEO of Signia Partners, will serve as a member of the FIND/SVP Operating Management Group and will lead the company’s Strategic Consulting and Research Group.
“I’m very pleased to be joining forces with FIND/SVP,” said House. “We’ve looked at other opportunities like this over the years, but the fit between Signia Partners and FIND is extraordinary…We’ve already begun receiving cross-sell and cross-service opportunities, and synergies in these and other areas will only grow with time.”
“As companies continue to outsource their non-core functions, business service providers like market research firms are poised for tremendous growth,” said Brian Greenberg, Managing Director of Kaulkin Ginsberg. “This is the second transaction that we’ve completed recently in the market research sector and we expect considerable M&A activity to continue in this fragmented market.” At the close of 2004, the firm also advised on the sale of a major survey research data collection firm.
